July 27, 2002 -
Norfolk, Virginia
Jacqui Frazier-Lyde, 166, stopped Heidi Hartmann, 166,
of Germany in the :50 seconds third round. Amateurish Hartmann,
fought straight up and showed little in her bout against Frazier-Lyde.
This fight was for the WIBF Super- Middleweight
"Intercontinental" Championship, but would have been
more appropriately booked as a six-rounder. Hartman came into the
fight with an official record of three bouts---hardly a resume
for a world title fight. WBAN is sure that world champions Ann
Wolfe, Valerie Mahfood, and other top women boxers would
have been happy to have fought on this Pay-Per-View card tonight. (update
07/28/02: there was confusion on the belt that Frazier and
Hartmann was fighting for. In the German
News it stated that the
belt was for the GBU World title. That is the same
organization that is connected with Barbara Buttrick who is
also the WIBF. On Jacqui
Frazier's website it said, "GBU Title Fight." But
to set the record straight on this belt, it was the WIBF
Intercontinental Super-Middleweight belt.
An interesting Tidbit on the matchmaking of this card, the
Pay-Per-View announced that the matchmaking for ALL the Bouts
was made by SoReal Communications. If you go to www.sorealcommunication.com
it is re-directed to Jacqui Frazier's website, as that is affiliated
with Frazier. Logged

the aggressor throughout the five rounds, and was continuously getting
shots in on Gonzalez with hard straight lefts. Gonzalez showed a lot of
heart throughout the fight, but Reid was the stronger puncher. Gonzalez
was staggered on several occasions throughout the fight. According to an
insider on the Boxing Rumble Forum, Gonzalez was hit hard at the end of
round four that stunned her as the bell saved her. In the fifth round the
ref stopped the fight, and Reid won by a TKO. WBAN received a lot of
positive emails about this bout and said that Reid fought a great fight.

hand, and displaying excellent sportsmanship.

Prouder backed out of fighting Jeffries due to a hand injury.
According to Brian Low who was on scene at the event, reported that
the four-rounder was an entertaining bout, with Jeffries ultimately
being in control of most of the rounds. Razo did give it her best,
and managed to land some "bombs" on the champion. But
Jeffries kept the pressure on Razo, and most of the time Razo would
score, Jeffries would come back with combinations, throwing them at
all angles. Low said to WBAN, "With Razo’s lack of
defense, Jeffries seemed to score with just about everything she
threw." Final judges scoring was 40-36 on all cards. Jeffries
