Jeanne Martinez
vs. Sophia Johnson (A Kemp Girl) from Atlanta, Georgia. The fight was declared a "no Contest" after the third round when the Louisiana Boxing Commission declared that there was a "Foreign substance" on the gloves of one of the opponents. The substance was getting in Martinez’ eyes. Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction, as the old cliché goes. The ref examined the Martinez’ gloves and found an odor coming from them, he also checked Sophia’s gloves, face and body and could not detect any odor. The fight was stopped at that point and declared a "no Contest."

March 25, Harrah's Casino in New Orleans, LA. .
IBA Strawweight champion, Brenda Rouse, defeated Andrea Blevins by a unanimous decision in a ten-round bout to capture the IWBF Strawweight Title. After the bout, Blevin's trainer, Ike Stafford, praised Rouse, and said she was vastly underrated. He noted that in his opinion, Rouse won almost every round. He also expressed pleasure with Blevin's performance against the much more experienced, IBA Champ, Brenda Rouse.  Blevins weighed in for the fight at 101 pounds, which was several pounds lighter than the champion.  Stafford added that Blevins would very much like a rematch with Nina Ahlin, in the near future.

Fight report for the Mullett vs. Allan:
The fight started with both jabbing and feeling each other out. It quickly escalated with Mullett going to the body on the inside.  Allan went down from a right hook to the head. She was up at about 6 and after 8 the ref allowed the fight to continue.  The ref had to break Mullett and Allan apart, and Allan was  holding on, trying to make it through the round. Allan got pinned against the ropes and was taking heavy shots to the body while leaning over and protecting her head when the ref stopped it at 1:34.
Fight report on the Vonda Ward vs. Lana Jock fight:  At the opening bell Lana came flying across the ring wind milling punches, looking as if she was trying to tackle Vonda. Vonda fired a couple strong jabs and rights and Lana went down. She bounced back up trying to attack but received an 8 count. She came out firing ineffectually, still wind milling and wild. Connected with one or two but paid dearly for them. Lana was off balance with little technique. She slipped and fell while it looked like she was trying to bore in. She got up a little more slowly but continued to attack. Vonda kept her composure easily and weathered the windmill while firing very powerful straight jabs and rights. She connected with most and landed a powerful right. Lana went down for the count and was counted out at :52 seconds. Lana didn't get up for several minutes but appeared ok later and was upset with her performance.

Sepulvado is another fighter that needs to go get a job and get out of boxing.  She couldn't even get her name straight when she fought Mia St. John twice, when she called herself Kris Vado, and Carter.  Maybe she took one too many punches.
