May 29, 2007 - Port Audemer, France
Bulgarian Galina Koleva Ivanova (7-5-2) defended her European
Featherweight Title against undefeated Myriam Chomaz (7-0-0).
Chomaz has a reputation as a knockout boxer, winning 5 of her 7
fights within the distance, but it was the experience and better
boxing skills of Ivanova that came out on top in this fight. Chomaz
chased Galina for most of the fight, throwing plenty of punches, but
very few got through the defence of the Bulgarian. Galina had better
luck with her counter punches and had the better game plan, while
Chomez seemed to rely only on landing that one big punch that has
won her 5 of her 7 previous fight, but failed to materialise in this
one. Chomaz suffered a bad cut on the forehead in the 9th round, but
the ring doctor allowed her to finish the fight. Galina Koleva
Ivanova retained her belt with the scores 97-93, 96-94 and 95-95.

Natascha Ragosina, 167½, now 14-0-0 (10 KOs), of Magdeburg, Germany,
successfully defended her three super middleweight world title belts (WIBF, GBU, WBA) against Dakota Stone,163¼, of Seattle, Washington, USA,
when she won by a 10-round unanimous decision. This was a rematch for
the two, with Ragosina winning by a decision in their first fight.
There was never much doubt about the outcome. Stone simply didn't have the
means to overcome her disadvantage in reach, and managed to land very few
punches. Ragosina was in full command throughout, but was failed to follow
up on the occasions where she had Stone on her heels. Stone's solid chin
forced Ragosina to go the full distance for only the 4th time in her 14
fights. Stone is now 8-6-5 (1 KOs). The judges scored the bout 99-91,
98-93 and 100-90. Also, Flyweight Susianna Kentikian, 112, won
by a split decision over Nadia Hokmi, 111. Kentikian was defending
her WBA Flyweight title. Final judges scores were 97-93, 98-92 and 93-97.

Elizabeth Quevedo of Commerce, California, and five-time amateur US
Champion and, and ranked #1, at 138 lbs., as an amateur, won her pro debut

via a third-round TKO. Quevedo now 1-0 (1KO), dominated Christensen
throughout the bout, and nearly ended the bout in the first round.
Christensen suffered cuts over both eyes which forced the stoppage and the
end of third round. According to Quevedo's coach, Robert Luna (who
co-manages with Frank Espinoza), Elizabeth suffered a minor hand injury that
prevented her from stopping Christensen, now 1-7, in the first round.

In what could be described as just another pointless “title” bout that
took place in women’s boxing, bantamweight Fatuma Zarika [Njeri], Kenya, TKO’d Iliana Boneva, Bulgaria, in
the seventh round of a scheduled 10-round WIBF world title bout.

Okumu warned Boneva twice, instructing the judges to deduct points.
