report, Gabriel was down in the fourth and Clark in the fifth.
Gabriel was having trouble with the surface, which wasn't the
correct material, and kept slipping. Her hair was also getting in
her eyes but she finished strongly. Clark was cornered and in
trouble when the final bell rang. Gabriel said that she wanted to
have a rematch.

Maureen Shea returned to the ring, briefly, after a twelve month
hiatus, to TKO a badly overmatched El Shaddai [Ellsha] Cleffman,
146, at 1:57 of the first round of a scheduled six round bout,
Wednesday night, at the PAL Gym in Yonkers, NY. The fight, billed as
the main event, on a five bout card, presented by Irish Ropes
Promotions, featured Shea, fighting at 138 lbs. for the first time.
Shea's last bout was September 2007, a two round TKO over Jessica
Mohs (7-15-1) in New York City. Cleffman was coming off a first
round stoppage, in June, at the hands of Cheryl Bontz (1-2) in North
Platte, NB. Shea's record goes to 13-0, while Cleffman drops to
3--2.

According to a ringside observer, Dance utilized her superior height
and reach to hold Delgado at bay with her jab to begin the bout, but
that Delgado’s pressure eventually turned the fight to her favor.

Melissa “Huracan” Hernandez, 125, won a 10-round
unanimous decision over Ela Nunez, 125. The two were fighting
for the vacant WIBA super featherweight title. Final judges scores
were 97-93 on all cards. Photographer Mary Ann Owen who was
ringside for the event said, "Nunez made a great showing, she was
very busy in every round. The fight was a real crowd pleaser, lots
of action and very entertaining. Both fighters boxing techniques
were outstanding, they fought hard and furious every round. Nunez
was there to fight and stood strong against Hernandez exchanging
blows. Hernandez kept the pressure on Nunez all ten rounds, it was
like the war of the wills." This fight raised the bar in
female boxing, it was an excellent match up.
