February 20, 2011 - Melbourne,  Australia
Australian boxer Susie Ramadan beat Terri Lynne Cruz 99-91 on all judges scorecards today to win the first sanctioned IBF female bantamweight world championship in Melbourne, Australia.  The more seasoned Cruz displayed some impressive ring craft and footwork, but seemed unable to get her timing to land meaningful punches on Ramadan, who is also known for her fleet-footed style. After the fight Cruz said she had never felt worse and that possibly the flying time and crossing the international dateline had caught her off guard as much as Ramadan's speed and skill. Ramadan's record moves to 20-0 while Cruz, from Thornton, Colorado drops to 17-6. Story by Mischa Mertz

Update on Emily from Emily's mom (Cindy) - Emily had woke up by the time she was in the ER, and had an emergency procedure to relieve some cranial bleeding and swelling. Today she is doing well at UIHC conversing & able to follow all doctors instructions. Dozing a lot, but she looks and sounds amazingly good - still feisty! Prognosis is guardedly optimistic, but of course the next 48 hours are still critical and she is being closely monitored. She will be in SICU for a few days, and is not quite ready for visitors. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers; will try to give updates periodically."
