Gerula told WBAN, "What a fight! After 10 hard fought rounds I won by split
decision: Official score: 95-95; 97-93; 98-92 .
Simone was a tough opponent and she was definitely gunning for me. But I
kept the pressure on and worked her body at every opportunity.
The packed Winnipeg crowd got everything they were cheering for in the
action packed championship worthy show. I am so proud to be the new WIBA
champion!! I turned 36 at midnight (may 1st) showered, cleaned
up, put on a dress and heels along with my pretty new baby blue belt and
celebrated at the after party - couldn't think of a better way to start off
