(JAN 7) WBAN has many updates and
changes for 2008. First off, before getting started with the
updates, I would like to say, that I am very proud of our
WBAN World
ratings. Dee Williams has done an absolute spectacular job
on the computerized independent women’s boxing ratings. In our
change for 2008, we have tightened the ratings as of January 1,
2008. If a boxer is inactive for one year, they will no longer
be rated until they come back into the sport and fight. Our original
time frame was for 18 months to remain on the ratings----We cannot
leave inactive boxers on our rankings for that long.
Secondly, WBAN has added a
new form to get the
News Stories to us. We will review what you have sent
and it is highly probable that we will post it on WBAN. We were
happy to see that the NEWS STORY FORM has already been utilized
without advertising it until now. The link to that form is
right above the daily news on the homepage.
Thirdly, we will be making a page link to boxers on the
Boxers Profile segment, who do not currently have a biography. We
will have a photo of them in that segment, with a link for the boxer
or the boxer’s team to easily go to that form and submit a BIOGRAPHY
to WBAN. We can then get the bio up on that fighter much easier.
Fourth, WBAN is asking any and everyone this year, that if
they have archived ANY WOMEN’S
BOXING RATINGS from the past to email those to us. We have
archived records, dated back to 1976 to the present in any and every
Federation that has ever had rankings. We want to develop this
database for historical reasons. If you have any ratings that we do
not already have----please email
them to WBAN.
Lastly---this year will be the first time that we have a
plaque presented to our “Fighter of the Year”. This will be
something we do every year for the woman boxer who is chosen as our
WBAN Fighter of the Year.
WBAN hopes that 2008 will be a great year for Women’s Boxing!
