(MAY 23) VICTORVILLE, Calif. – Decorated American boxer Jesikah Guerra has announced that she is leaving the amateurs, in which she is a 10-time national champion, to join the professional ranks.  The 19-year-old welterweight, fighting out of Victorville, CA, trains at Elite Boxing under the guidance of her coach, Michael Love, who is also serving as her manager. Belgium's Delfine Persoon won the WBC Silver Super Featherweight title

(MAY 22) Last night at the  Etihad Arena, in Abu Dhabi. super featherweight Delfine Persoon,128¼, of Roeselare, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, won a ten-round unanimous decision over Elhem Mekhaled, 129¼, of Paris, France. Final judges scores were 96-94, 97-94, and 97-93. The two were fighting for the vacant WBC Silver Super Featherweight title.

(MAY 17) WBAN would like to give our sincere thoughts and prayers for Mexican female boxer Alejandra Ayala, after she sustained an injury in the ring when she fought in the history-first "mainliner" in Glascow, Scotland.  In what was a fight of a lifetime for this talented boxer, that took place on  May 13th at the SSE Hydro, in Glasgow, Scotland, super welterweight Hannah Rankin, 153 1/2, won by a ten-round TKO over  Ayala. Of all eligible National Federations, 145 were in attendance in person in Istanbul, while ten joined online. Maori women will Box in rematch, but this time for New Zealand Title

(MAY 4) On the 30th of April, Lani Daniels defeated Sequita Hemingway by unanimous decision. The two will get another shot at each other on the 25th of June at The Plaza in Putaruru but this time for a New Zealand title.  Lani Daniels who is a descendant of Te Tai Tokerau, from Ngāti Hine which is part of the wider Ngāpuhi, fought against Sequita Hemingway on the 30th of April in her first professional boxing fight in two and a half years. The judges scored the fight 60-54, 59-55, 58-56 with all judges scoring Lani Daniels as the win. Before the fight, Lani Daniels was ranked 9th in the WBA.  Full Story

(MAY 4)  On Saturday, April 30th at the at the Palaboxe Aurelio Santoro, Roma, Lazio, in Italy there was an ALL-FEMALE Boxing Card that took place in Italy!  They featured five female bouts on the card.   These female boxers fought the same night as the History-making Taylor vs. Serrano fight in New York. (MAY 1) Last night at the Madison Square Garden, in New York, women’s boxing made yet another “footprint” in the sport for now seeing that women’s boxing should have been in the “mainstream” Long ago!  In a history-first a female multi-world champion bout was featured in the main event.  The top champions, Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano did not disappoint!  Taylor, 134½, of Bray, Ireland,  ultimately won a controversial split decision over Serrano, 133½, of Brooklyn, New York,  with final scoring of 96-94 (Serrano); 97-93 (Taylor), and 96-94 (Taylor), with Taylor retaining her WBC, WBO, IBF, and WBA Lightweight titles.  Full Story

Mea Motu Calls out World Champion after win

(MAY 1) Mea Motu calls out the IBF Super Bantamweight champion Cherneka Johnson after the biggest win of her career so far against Baby Nansen.   Mea Motu took on the veteran Baby Nansen in the main event of the evening in what was described as a close but dirty fight.
