Boxing Action in Australia! Sarah Higginson Wins by Decision over Sylvia Cinque 
February 28, 2021

(FEB 28) On Friday night, at the Metro City, Northbridge, Western Australia, super flyweight Sarah Higginson won a five-round unanimous decision over Sylvia Cinque, making her pro debut.  The two were fighting for the vacant Australia state title. Final judges scores were 50-45 on all cards. Both fight out of Australia.

Tonight: Melissa Oddessa Parker to fight Maria Cecilia Roman

 (FEB 20) Tonight at the Caribe Royale Orlando, Florida, Melissa Oddessa Parker, 3-0-0 (2KO), of Brooklyn, New York, is set to fight Maria Cecilia Roman, 15-4-1 (0KO), of San Juan, Argentina. This will be the first fight this year for Parker,  Roman last fought in December of 2019, a few months before the Pandemic took place and still rears it's ugly head.   The two will be fighting 10 rounds.

  Lucia Alfaro: A Trailblazer in the Mexican state of Morelos when she was 15 Years Old

(FEB 14)  Lucia Alfaro, a boxer from Mexico, was born in Cuernavaca, Morelos.  When Lucia was 15 years old, and at the time studying theatre, her brother had gotten into training in boxing to defend himself.  Lucia began accompanying him to the gym, and two weeks into going she decided to also get into boxing to protect herself from bullying.  Full Story

(FEB 6) AIBA President Mr. Umar Kremlev came for an official visit to Africa to take part in the AIBA Virtual Forum in Nairobi, Kenya. Mr. Kremlev met with representatives of the Ministry of Sports of Kenya, National Olympic Committee of Kenya and the President of Kenyan Boxing Federation Mr. Anthony Otieno Ombok, as well as with African Boxing Confederation (AFBC) President Dr. Mohamed Moustahsane who supported boxing development ideas.  Full Story
