Sandra Robles Won by Fourth Round TKO

(JUNE 29) On Saturday, in La Guaira, Venezuela, Sandra Robles of Tijuana, Mexico, won by a fourth round TKO against undefeated Deborha Rengifo, in the Junior Flyweight division. Robles according to ringside observers was too much for Rengifo. Rengifo was down in the first round and dropped again in the fourth by a systematic offensive Robles.

(JUNE 27) The first two classes of the International Women's Boxing Hall of Fame (IWBHF) are dominated by "modern era" (1995-2005) boxers, several of whose names continue to be synonymous with the sport. Christy Martin, Lucia Rijker and Laila Ali are logical candidates for a three woman Rushmore of female fighters, likely to be included in any paragraph written about the history of Women's boxing. All three have (Martin, Rijker) or will (Ali) ascend to the sport's Hall of Fame and are joined by talented boxers from that era who were honored in the 2014 class (Regina Halmich, Bonnie Canino) or will be inducted on July 11 (Laura Serrano, Jeannine Garside, Ann Wolfe, Deirdre Gogarty, Terri Moss), indicative of the popularity of the sport..Full Story

Nicole Wesner won second round KO over Monica Gentili

(JUNE 21) Last night at the Admiral Dome, Vienna, Austria, Nicole Wesner, 135, 10-0-0 (5KO) of Austria, won second round KO over Monica Gentili, 138¼, Lazio, Italy.  The bout was a non-title six rounder. Wesner will be Irma Balijagic Adler, in a ten rounder multi-title bout (WIBF, WBF, GBU) on September 4, 2015 in Germany.

LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA -Terri Moss, who began her professional boxing career at an age when others are often contemplating "hanging up the gloves," and who culminated an eighteen bout, ninety round career five years later with a WIBF title, will be inducted into the International Women's Boxing Hall of Fame on July 11 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Moss will join modern era boxers Laila Ali, Laura Serrano, Jeannine Garside, Ann Wolfe and Deirdre Gogarty along with Sparkle Lee, the first professional female referee to be licensed in New York and New Jersey and Phyllis Kugler, a pioneer in the sport of female boxing in the 1950s. The ceremony, inducting the second class of the IWBHF, will be in the Crystal Ballroom (3:30-6:30 PM) of the Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six hotel and will be held in conjunction with the National Women's Golden Gloves tournament.  Full Story

PORTLAND, OR - (June 4, 2015)  Laura Serrano whose professional boxing career helped pave the way for women in her home country, will become the first Mexican female fighter to enter the International Women's Boxing Hall of Fame.
